Gittings Celebrates 90 Years with Tradition of Giving Back
Since the first portrait was taken in 1928, Gittings has existed to offer portrait services of the highest caliber to individuals and families. Much of our history is rooted in giving back to the community. It has brought us great joy to partner with organizations across North Texas to capture the memories and accomplishments of those who give and serve.
Honoring Selfless Women
In case you haven’t heard or visited the display at one of the three host venues, we’re celebrating our 90thanniversary in a big way. We’re amplifying our dedication to giving back through a special portrait exhibition during Women’s History Month. Selfless Women to Remember: An Exhibition of Portraits by Gittings features and uplifts women of yesterday, today and tomorrow who have positively impacted the community.
The exhibition celebrates the service of 30 women, half of which were selected from the Gittings archives through a community-wide vote. The other half are members of the Junior Leagues of Dallas, Fort Worth and Collin County. Each Junior League honoree was nominated by her chapter and honored with a Gittings portrait of her own.
Inspiring the Community
These portraits are a reminder of the importance of capturing a timeless image of women who are strengthening our communities each day. The honor is ours to recognize these ladies as leaders in giving so much of their time, talent and treasure. We hope the community is as inspired by their selflessness as we are.
For the full display schedule and list of honorees, head to the about page on our website. We hope you can check it out and celebrate these women with us as the display continues to travel throughout DFW this month.
Stay tuned for recaps on the exclusive celebrations we’re hosting with our partners. We’ll also share some highlights on the work these incredible ladies are doing in their communities!
